Court Wilkins OD, MHS, FAAO

Court Wilkins, OD, MHS, FAAO, was selected for the Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs position at Rocky Mountain University College of Optometric Medicine and started in May 2021. Dr. Wilkins has over 30 years of optometric experience and is a proud veteran serving over 23 years in Military Service. His military experience has sent him worldwide to serve our military personnel and their families as one of the top-rated Optometrists.

Professional History: Court Wilkins, OD, MHS, FAAO

Dr. Court Wilkins is a nationally respected optometrist with over 30 years of experience in clinical care, academic leadership, and community service. He currently serves as the Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs at Rocky Mountain University College of Optometric Medicine, where he oversees clinical operations and mentors future optometric leaders.

Dr. Wilkins completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Utah and earned his Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University College of Optometry. He went on to complete a Fellowship in Primary Care and received a Master of Health Science (MHS) with an emphasis in Medical Emergency and Disaster Management.

A decorated U.S. military veteran, Dr. Wilkins served over 23 years providing optometric care to service members and their families across the globe. His clinical expertise includes primary care optometry, ocular disease, anterior segment management, and laser procedures. He is also involved in FDA clinical trials related to corneal and anterior segment disorders.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Wilkins has held adjunct teaching positions at multiple universities nationwide, contributing significantly to optometric education. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and a Past President of the Utah Optometric Association. He also serves as the Utah Director for the Special Olympics “Open Eyes” program, which provides vision care services to athletes with special needs.

Dr. Wilkins is passionate about public health and volunteers with several organizations including Friends for Sight, Utah Partners for Health, and CharityVision. His leadership, clinical acumen, and commitment to service continue to elevate the standard of eye care in Utah and beyond.

Dr. Court Wilkins brings more than 30 years of optometric experience to his role at Rocky Mountain University Eye Institute. A graduate of the University of Utah and Pacific University College of Optometry, he went on to complete a prestigious Fellowship in Primary Care and earn a Master’s in Health Science with a focus in Medical Emergency and Disaster Management from Touro University.

Dr. Wilkins has advanced training in primary eye care, ocular disease, anterior segment procedures, and laser certifications. A proud U.S. military veteran, he served with distinction for over two decades, providing eye care to military personnel and their families around the world.

Passionate about education and research, Dr. Wilkins has served as an adjunct professor at multiple universities and has participated in FDA clinical trials focused on corneal and anterior segment disease management. He is the former president of the Utah Optometric Association and currently serves as the Utah Director for the Special Olympics “Open Eyes” program.
